The DAAD is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers.
Main tasks of the DAAD office in Beijing:
- Providing free information and advice to Chinese students studying in Germany
- Providing scholarships for Chinese students and scholars to study and conduct research in Germany

- Promoting cooperation and exchange between German and Chinese universities
- Establishing and maintaining a network of alumni contacts in China for German and Chinese students and scholars
